Wuthering Heights
by Emily Brontë
Wuthering Heights is a dark and passionate story of love, obsession and revenge set against the windswept Yorkshire moors. At its centre is the powerful bond between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, an outsider brought into the Earnshaw household as a child. Their relationship is shaped by pride, social ambition and emotional intensity, and its consequences extend across two generations. As resentment and desire transform into cruelty and vengeance, the isolated houses of Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange become stages for a deeply troubled family history. Emily Brontë’s only novel is famous for its dramatic atmosphere, complex characters and refusal to offer a simple romantic ideal. Strange, fierce and unforgettable, Wuthering Heights remains one of the most distinctive novels in English literature.
